Coaching staff and players enjoying some lemonade.......

Congratulations to all the Sppers who represented the Army, Darrell Ball who was awarded man of the Match, Ben Hughes winning his 26th cap, Danny Cootes his first Twickenham experiance, Ben Seru, Barbarian Ledua Jope, Peceli Nacamavuto and new sapper Maku Koroiyadi.

The Key below had the bar jumping until 7.30 when this photo was taken...the rest of Twickenham was very quiet at that time.....

Your comments, we'll add them as you send them, thanks to Neil Jordan for the great photos........and thanks to all that wore your 'sapperrugby' shirts with pride, over 700 shirts were sold on the day, and everywhere you went in Twickenham you could see a sapper shirt - 'ubique'

Please note we have passed many of your comments to the ARU and 'Twickenham experiance' re bar waiting times and security, lets hope they take note!

The game was great, a relatively quiet first 30 minutes, then the Army's training came into its own, and our strength and determination won through. Fair play to the Navy, they never give up, and their final push and try showed us their true spirit. After that, it was queueing at the heeras fencing for the youth opportunities program security teenager to have the bottle to start letting 4,000-odd thirsty Sappers in. Another good hours wait, and finally proper socializing.
I've got to say though, that even with the dust, last years Corps bar was better.
Are we back in the car park next year? (probably not, we've out grown them!)
The band were great, and thanks to the duty rumour battalion (which may have included myself), we were expecting anyone from Abba to Madness to the Wurzels!
Regardless of the date for next years clash my phone, computer, blackbery, diary, wife, neighbour, and sister in Australia are all programmed to remind me to book two tickets and wristbands on Jan 9th!!
Another strong presence by the Corps, both on and off the pitch.
See you next year.
Ubique
Nick Piggott

Thanks for the tickets. Lynn and I had a great day out. Caught up with loads of old pals and the odd aquaintance! Really enjoyed the game too. Network Rail were poor as ever but that did not seem to dampen the spirits of the Army and Navy crowd to and from the match!

Thanks for all your work behind the scenes. I am already looking forward to next year!!

Dave and Lynn Lord

Thanks for another excellent weekend Chris, it was a really, really good one this year as we saw more people than normal.
It was also 'er indoors's first one. She had a ball and has now said she wants to come every year. So thats the 'its only stag' excuse is well and truly out the window!!!
Thanks once again mate.
Glad to have bumped into you even though it was only brief.
See ya and thanks once again.

Billy Mayne.

Just wanted to say Thank you for a cracking day out on Saturday at the Army v Navy 2008. It was my first one, after leaving Trg Regts for civvy street 1994. What an emotional day, meeting up with all my old 2tp 24fd sqn muckers! Can\'t wait for next year! Oh by the way... please could you send me a price list for all the Rugby shirts, I didn\'t buy one at Twickenham due to fear of losing it after severe alcohol consumption! Cheers Stevie

Sapperrugby tent coordinator Chris Fowke 24 hrs before it all went mad in 2007... thanks to Hesco for the great banners....
The Sapperrugby bar is the largest non permenant bar in Europe this year; even bigger than the Munich beer festival....
This was the shot at 1945; 15 minutes after the bar should have closed....................
